TrimKids Review
Review In a Nutshell
For obese, overweight or "at risk" kids, beginning a healthy lifestyle that includes balanced nutrition and fitness is vitally important for creating patterns that will continue into adulthood. For this reason, we applaud eDiets' recent addition of the TrimKids plan.
Originally developed by Melinda Sothern, Kristian von Almen and Heidi Schumacher, eDiets has optimized the solid basis by enabling parents to customize the TrimKids plan for each child.
How Does It Work?
The TrimKids plan at eDiets helps parents learn how to help their kids practice healthier habits through a 12 week program using fun, low-pressure techniques. Registration includes calculation of a child's BMI (Body Mass Index) and risk level. Meal plans, recipes and grocery lists are also included. The plans are adjusted as needed as parents log progress details online.
Who Is It Good For?
The approximately 15% of kids between 6 and 19 who are overweight, and the additional 15% in this age range who are at risk of becoming overweight.

eDiets - eDiets sees clearly that diet and weight loss programs are highly individual choices. Instead of a one size fits all approach, they provide a wide variety of choices and plans. We've found that customization, convenience and cost are huge factors for many seeking weight loss, and eDiets excels in all three of these areas. Their website contains solid information on food, exercise, and lifestyle change, member chat rooms, online counselors and nutritionists. Their free diet profile is a great way to get started.
